Antonio Matias Won The EPT Vilamoura Stop

European Poker Tour (EPT) is one of the most sought after poker tournaments. This tournament will happen in several European countries and will feature professionals and anon-professionals in the field.

The latest winner of the EPT leg which happened in at the Casino Vilamoura in Portugal was a travel agency owner. Businessman Antonio Matias brought home a cool prize money of 404,793 EUR and the EPT trophy. He is a local and thus other players in the field did not worry him so much.

Likewise, he plays poker the way he is without being stressed about the experience of the other players. He does not worry much and just hope that luck will not turn its back on him. In did, in the fifth leg of the European Poker Tour, he came out as the winner.

This win of his will prepare him for the final table which will happen at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort in Monaco. The final Table is scheduled on April 2010 where eight players will face each other. He still has several months to prepare for the final table, so good luck.

As far as the other leg of the tournament, here are the winners who Matias and the EPT winners to emerge from now till April will possibly face.

Winner of the EPT Kyiv, Ukraine is Maxim Lykov of Russia. He emerged a winner from a field of 296 players and bringing home the EPT trophy plus the first prize money worth €330,000.

The second stop of EPT was in Barcelona where American poker player Carter Philips emerged as the winner. He brought home the EPT trophy with first prize money worth €850,000.

The third stop of the EPT was in London. The games are played at the Hilton London Metropole. In this game, the trophy was brought home by another American poker player by the name of Aaron Gustavson. Gustavson brought home the EPT trophy for his efforts plus the first prize money worth £850,000. He did this by toppling over in the heads up game the 2008 WSOP Champion, Peter Eastgate.

The fourth stop of EPT before the Vilamoura leg was at Warsaw. The games happen at the Casinos Poland in the Hyatt Regency Hotel. In this EPT leg, the winner was a poker player from France, his name is Christophe Benzimra. Christophe Benzimra is quite new in the poker tournament arena and the EPT Warsaw win of his was his most significant win since he played at the Budapest leg of EPT in October 2008. Thus, his EPT trophy and the cash prize of $528,253 is already a record in his career.

The next stop of EPT will be in Prague. It will be held at the Golden Prague Poker at Hilton Prague Hotel. This is going to happen before the tour hits the Caribbean on January 4.

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) will be an exciting event and the buy-in of $10,000 is quite a challenge for some players.
