November 7 is the most important day in the 2009 World Series of Poker. It is the daw where the final table coined as November Nine will take place. It is not the date, but it is November Nine because there are nine players vying for the first prize of $8,546,435 and title of the World Champion for 2009.
This day is much awaited by poker aficionados. Nine of the most exciting poker professionals will be facing each other in the final table.
The players will be seated as follows –
Seat 1 will be for Darwin Moon
Darwin Moon is playing the final table as the chip leader with 58,930,000 chips. This logger who loves to play poker is never in the tournament for the money. He is there to play poker that is all he cared about. Some people are rooting for him in the top place because his chip status tells he may possibly outplay most of the players on the table.
Seat 2 is for James Akenhead
James Akenhead is playing in the final table with the least chips at 6,800,000. While James Akenhead had stellar games in the fast, the November Nine event can be a challenge. This is because he will be seated next to Phil Ivey who is one of the best poker players today.
Seat 3 is for Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey is the face of Full Tilt Poker. He is one of the most dangerous poker players but he is starting the final table at only 9,765,000 chips. However, he is still favorite to reach the top slot even with chip shortage because many believe that chip count is far from being an issue with the “Tiger Woods of Poker”.
Seat 4 is reserved to Kevin Schaffel
Kevin Schaffel is a 51 year old poker player who will be playing on the November Nine table as the sixth placer in terms of chips count. While he has been playing poker continuously for five years, he has not won any tournament title. However, some poker fans rooting for Kevin Schaffel thinks that his dream of winning in a tournament could be the November Nine.
Seat 5 is for Steven Begleiter
Steven Begleiter is a Wall Streeter. He is noted for his 25 years of service at one of the major investment firms, Bear Stearns. He is playing the November Nine table with the third highest chip count of 29,885,000. Does he have the change to bag the final seat? It is for you to find out. He is however a good strategist in terms of investment, maybe he can use his experience in the poker table as well.
Seat 6 is Eric Buchman
Eric Buchman is one exciting poker player. He however is playing the final table with the second highest chip count and this can be his ticket to the championship. This 29 year old poker player is a big threat, so watch out for.
Seat 7 is Joe Cada
Joe Cada is “The Kid” in the November Nine. At 21, he is facing poker giants and if his luck brings him to the top, this young kid will top the record of youngest player to win a tournament championship. Is he ready for it? He is an aggressive player and with the fifth place in terms of chip count, the possibilities are endless.
Seat 8 is for Antoine Saout
Antoine Saout is a young French poker pro. He is playing November Nine with 9,500,000 chips. Is this enough to bring him to the top place? Could be but whatever may happen, his performance may surely give an impact to the poker industry in his country.
The final Seat is for Jeff Shulman
Jeff Shulman is the Editor of Card Player Magazine. He is also the son of another poker pro and CEO of Card Player Magazine. At the November Nine table, he is fourth in terms of chip count at 19,580,000. With his poker experience and good chip count, he can be a threat in the table as well.
