Mike Sexton is the New Member of Poker Hall of Fame

Mike Sexton is an American Poker Professional for more than 30 years. From being a gymnast in college, an Army Paratrooper and a little league coach, his poker career flourished greater than his other interests. Sexton not just plays poker but is a commentator and host of poker tournaments.

Of course, his comments on the poker cards of the players are being done after the games. While the action is live, the comments, reactions and spills provided by Mike Sexton are done after the games are over.

Regarding his poker professional career, while Mike has joined many tournaments during his career, he won the World Series of Poker Bracelet only once in 1989 which is a $1,500 Seven-Card Stud Split event.

He has about 45 cash game winnings that totaled to about $883,323.00. While he is actively playing in various poker tournaments, his contribution to the poker industry as a promoter and commentator in poker tournaments such as the World Poker Tour is quite in valuable. Likewise, he is a spokesperson for PartyPoker.com, an online poker room.

In addition to these services, Sexton likewise writes for Card Player Magazine and Gambling Times still on subjects of gaming and poker.

His 30 years of being poker professional and his contribution and services to the Poker industry gave him the title as the Ambassador of Poker.

To prove his love for poker, during the 2009 World Series of Poker elimination games, there are about 500 players who failed to make it through. They complained and mucked the tournament but as an ambassador of poker as he is, Sexton listened to their complaints and discussed them with the WSOP officials. Even if nothing was done to accommodate those displaced tournament players, Sexton did do his part in airing the concerns of those players.

This may have been one of the reasons why, for the 2009 Poker Hall of Fame, he was voted by his poker colleagues and members of the media as the 38th player to be part of the Poker Hall of Fame.

Thus, the Main Event for the 2009 World Series of Poker is not only exciting because of the huge prizes and the World Series of Poker Bracelet but because the induction for the 2009 Poker Hall of Fame will be held on the same day as well.

This is the day that Mike Sexton will be inducted after winning the hearts of his colleagues and the media members of the voting panel.

There are other professional players in the field from where Mike Sexton was chosen, thus we will all wait for November 7, 2009 for the Poker Hall of Fame induction and the Main Event of the 2009 World Series of Poker where nine of the best poker professional will vie for the championship.

The 2009 WSOP Main Event was entitled November Nine, is coined not because of the date but because of the Nine professional players coming back in November for the Final Table of the tournament.
