EPT Barcelona 2011 Day 2

After six levels of play on day 2 of the 2011 PokerStars European Poker Tour main event in Barcelona, Spain, 141 players have survived the day with 120 of them going home with at least €8,000 in their pockets.

Leading the top ten by the chip count is Xavier Carruggi with 577,700 in chips, followed by Toni Pattersson with 534,100 in chips. The third place goes to Martin Schleich, the chip leader of day 1a, who has 453,400 in his chip bag. Guillaume Darcourt the chip leader of day 1b has finished in the 8th place with 380,100 in chips. Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst has taken the last spot on the leaderboard with 364,500 in chips.

The notable playerse who were not able to survive the day were Luca Pagano, Jonathan Duhamel, Sam El Sayed, Kent Lundmark, Arnaud Mattern, Marvin Rettenmaier and Jason Mercier.

On day 3 of the 2011 PokerStars European Poker Tour main event in Barcelona, the player count will be reduced down to the final 24 players and the money bubble will burst as well.

Matusow Criticizes Poker Players

APPT Queenstown 2011 Final Table

Marcel Schreiner from Germany has been crowned champion at the 2011 PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour main event in Queensland, New Zealand. After nearly twelve hours of play, Marcel Schreiner played the last hand of the tournament against the local hero Matt Yates. With aces full of queens, Schreiner took home the championship aswell the NZ$94,300 in prize money.

Although Marcel Schreiner has shown the best play from all of the players on the tournament, being in the chiplead at the end of every day. Still it was not an easy task to win against Matt Yates in the heads up which lasted for more than 180 hands. Schreiner was holding the chip lead for most of the heads up, loosing it only once to Yates, when they went all in and Matt Yates was holding a better kicker, taking the chip lead from Schreiner.

EPT Barcelona 2011 Day 1B

Another 465 players have registred on day 2 of the 2011 PokerStars European Poker Tour main event in Barcelona, Spain. With 811 players signing up on the two registration days, the total prize pool stand by €4,055,000, with €850,000 set aside for the eventuall champion.

Guillaume Darcour is leading the field of 407 survivors into day 2 with 195,300. Right behind him with 182,100 in chips is the chip leader of day 1a, Martin Schleich. The other eight players in the top ten are all in range of 20,00 chips with Vytautas Milvydas taking the third position with 172,400 in chips.

Out of the notable players who were not able to finish the day were Vikrot Blom, Daniel Negreanu, Liv Boeree, Roberto Romanello, John Duthie and Chris Moneymaker.

The Team PokerStars Pros who will return on day 2 include Ivan Demidov, Arnaud Mattern, Victor Ramdin and Jason Mercier, as well as other notable players like James Mitchell, Marvin Rettenmaier, Leo Fernadez, Matthias De Meulder and Eugene Katchalov.

Day 1A of the European Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event saw 346 players register but only 179 remained at the end of play. Germany’s Martin Schleich finished with the chip lead, holding a stack of 182,100.

PartyPoker Rake Changes
