APPT Queenstown 2011 Day 1C

When the registration was closed on day 1c of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour main event at Queenstown, New Zealand, a total of 127 players have registred for the tournament, creating a total prize pool of NZ$342,900 with NZ$94,300 set aside for rthe eventuall winner.

Again, the New Zealanders have shown great game by taking the fist two spots on the day 1c leaderboard. The first place goes to Alicia Sale with 91,750 in chips, thus being the player who will start with the most chips on day 2. The second place goes to Ben Paurini with 77,225 in chips, followed by the Austrian PokerStars player Octavian Voegele with 59,975 in chips.

Out of the notable players who were not able to continue to day 2 were Joel Dodds, Julian Cohen and Andrew Scott. Leo Boxell, who has won the first event of the season in Melbourne, has also fallen victim to the chip leader at the end of the day Alicia Sale.

Possible Delay In Czech Gambling
A political conflict may delay the Czech government’s plans to introduce a new gambling tax. An internal dispute within the ruling coalition could see Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek put the online gambling plans on hold.

The PokerStars Eureka Poker Tour Croatia Main Event has begun at the Golden Sun Casino at Hotel Antunovic in the city of Zagreb.

APPT Queenstown Snowfest
The PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour Queenstown Snowfest, at the SKYCITY Queenstown continued with day 1B. At the end play, Germany’s Marcel Schreiner held the chip lead with a stack of 72,600 and, of the 38 players who entered, 28 remain to continue onto day 2.

World Poker Tour Regional Jacksonville
The World Poker Tour regional $1,500 event at the Orange Park Poker Room in Jacksonville, Florida ran from August 13th to August 16th. Chris Conrad, of Tampa Bay, Florida, beat out a field of 461 players to take the title along with $143,145 in cash.

Unibet Poker Online Summer Festival
Unibet Poker has announced a new online summer festival that will run simultaneously with their Unibet Open which takes place in Ireland. The series will consist of eight tournaments and offer with €600,000 in guaranteed prize pools. It is scheduled to run between August 26th and August 29th.

APPT Queenstown 2011 Day 1B

This seasons PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour main event at the Skycity casino in Queenstown, New Zealand, has continued with day 1b, when 43 players have joined the play. It is yet to be seen how many players will join the action on day 1c when the total player count and prize pool will be determined.

Although the tournament was dominated by the natives on day 1a, the chip lead of day 1b goes to a player from all across the world, Marcel Shreiner from Germany. He was ble to bag the most chips at the end of the 6th level, holding 72,600 in chips. Matt Yates has defended the pride of New Zealand taking the second spot with 62,100. The next five positions go to the Australian players with Jonathan Karamalikis being themost notable of them in the 5th place with 50,700 in chips.

The notable players who were not able to survive the day were Grant Levy, Simon Watt, Daniel Neilson and the Team PokerStars Pro Joe Hachem.

It is hoped that one bill, SB40, would pass a single committee test by September 9th.

The Case Against Online Poker
