If you want to learn countdown poker, here it goes.

Rules of the game

• Players will be dealt a complete hand in Countdown Poker.

• This game can be played with ante or blinds. In this game, we will assume that you will be playing in casino and thus you will be playing with blinds.

• Players can replace zero to 3 cards in the first draw round. On the second draw round, players may replace zero to 2 cards. On the third draw round, players can replace zero to 1 card.

• Card replacements will cost the players and the cost will go to the pot.

• Card replacement cost however increases in the three drawing rounds. If the cost of card replacement in the first round is $5, on the second and third draw rounds, the cost will be $10 and $15, respectively.

• In the showdown, the best 5-card hand wins the pot.

How to Play Countdown Draw Poker

1. The dealer shuffles the cards and cuts it somewhere in the middle.

2. Before the blinds are dealt, the small blind will have to place half of the minimum bet in fixed limit and the big blind bets the minimum bet.

3. The dealer will now deal five cards to each player starting from the player seated on this left moving clockwise.

4. After the cards are received and checked by the players, the first betting round will happen. The player on the left of the big blind will have to make his action either to check (bet zero but stay in the pot), call (bet the same amount as the big blind), raise (increase the betting) or fold (withdraw from the game).

5. Because this is a countdown draw poker, rarely do players fold on the first round. This is because of the possibility of changing up to three cards on the first card exchanges.

6. After the first betting rounds, players may opt to replace zero to 3 cards from their hand. Card replacements are to be paid per card. If you are exchanging 3 cards from your hand, if the cost of each card replacement on the first round is $5, then exchanging 3 cards will cost you $15.

7. After all the players are done replacing cards, the second round of betting begins. Each active player will now make his or her move either to call, raise or fold.

8. After the second betting round, the players may now start the second round of drawing. The players may exchange zero to 2 cards in the second round. This time the cost of each replacement will be $10. Thus, players replacing 2 cards will have to pay $20. This money goes to the pot. Again, another round of betting happens.

9. The final drawing round will allow players to exchange zero to 1 card. This time the card replacement will cost $15. Then, the final betting round happens.

10. If there are two or more players left on the pot, then showdown happens. The best 5-card hand wins the entire pot.

This is how Countdown Draw Poker is played.
