UIGEA: Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
UIGEA regulations will go into effect in June 2010 according to US sources.
These non poker-friendly measures in US will not take more delay as rumoured some months ago. Due to UIGEA banks, online wallet and credit card companies would be prohibited from sending money to Online Poker Sites.
Congress passed these regulations in October 2006. There have been considerable efforts to delay UIGEA regulations, from many poker players and player organizations such as the Poker Player Alliance.
